A Macomb County judge denied dismissal of one of four new fraud-related cases against a woman who has been convicted for scamming customers of a Macomb Township fence company she operated.

Circuit Judge Jennifer Faunce said during her ruling from the bench earlier this month that while the circumstantial case against Laura Marie Dietz “is not the strongest,” she maintained the charges of false pretenses between $1,000 and $20,000 and fraudulently obtaining a signature to a financial document, both felonies.

Dietz, 43, of Macomb Township, who said she operated Valor Fence Co., allegedly collected a $7,500 deposit for a nearly $15,000 job in early June 2024 from a Macomb Township woman for Valor to tear down a wooden fence and install a vinyl fence at her home. Dietz used the name, “Summer
