DES MOINES, Iowa —

Des Moines police are searching for suspects in a burglary and high-speed chase.

Police say it started at around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at a convenience store on Watrous Avenue in Des Moines. The suspect car took off, topping 100 miles an hour and winding through city streets.

The chase ended in West Des Moines when the suspects ditched the car and ran away.

Investigators were able to get the stolen items back, but the suspects evaded arrest.
