WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- Technology is always evolving, and while some of us simply try to keep up, some local students are advancing.

Take a walk down the hall of W. F. Kaynor Technical High School in Waterbury and you may run into more than just students. A robot can be spotted taking its daily walk. It's fun to see, but it serves a real purpose.

"We have a robotic dog that is similar to Boston Dynamics and what the military has for safety," Royal Allard, electronics, robotics and automation department head, said.

This little one is just a part of the robotics and automation shop students spend years immersed in.

"I want to end up in robotics in the health field. So robotic surgeon support robots, stuff like that," junior Kenny Morissette said.
