NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — A 21-year-old Somers man was arrested Monday on drug charges in Newington after his vehicle was recognized by police.
Police recognized a Dodge Challenger that was the subject of an attempt-to-locate message from Connecticut State Police. The vehicle was known to engage police officers in multiple pursuits, according to Newington police.
Police officers waited for an opportunity to safely approach the vehicle, which was stopped in the area of Main Street and New Britain Avenue in West Hartford.
A Newington K9 unit indicated that the smell of narcotics was present, which resulted in a search of the vehicle. The search yielded 3.9 grams of suspected meth/amphetamine in addition to drug paraphernalia.
