IDAHO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A woman was killed over the weekend after falling while guiding a group on a rock-climbing course west of Denver.

The tragedy happened at AVA Rafting and Zipline Saturday afternoon. According to the Idaho Springs Police Department, 26-year-old AVA employee Olivia Copeland was helping customers traverse the popular Mount Blue Sky Via Ferrata course when she fell.

“The accident appears to have happened during a rappelling portion of the course,” Idaho Springs Police Department said.

Idaho Springs police officers, Clear Creek County deputies and other emergency crews rushed to the scene immediately after getting the call and began a high-angle rescue operation. A Flight for Life helicopter was dispatched.
