Western United Fish Company has recalled over 3,000 pounds of poke sold at Costco over potential listeria contamination.
The recall includes 3,314.7 pounds of Kirkland Signature brand Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke with item number 17193.
The product is packaged in clear, plastic clamshell containers with a package date of Sept. 18 and sell-by date Sept. 22.
Green onions used in the poke have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. That is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections. Symptoms of listeria include high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
