DES MOINES, Iowa —
A Dallas County jury has sided with Jim Nahas, the former Polk County Director of Human Resources, in his civil lawsuit against Polk County for wrongful termination in 2021 .
Nahas claimed in the lawsuit that he and Polk County Supervisor Matt McCoy were targeted for attempting to "clean up county government."
In response to the verdict, Polk County Administrator Frank Marasco released a statement saying, "This is an opportunity to find ways to improve the board's policies and practices and to move forward together as public servants."
Matt McCoy, the county's District 1 supervisor, released this statement after the verdict:
