Doctors reacted to President Donald Trump’s Monday announcement linking acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol, to autism.

At Kennedy Krieger’s Center for Autism Services, Science, and Innovation in Baltimore, doctors emphasized the importance of scientific evidence and genetic factors.

Trump said the Food and Drug Administration will release a physician’s notice about the risk of acetaminophen use during pregnancy, except for people with a fever. The Health and Human Services Department will also begin a nationwide campaign to inform patients.
