A political uproar broke out between the BJP and Congress workers in Maharashtra’s Dombivali on Tuesday after a purported video of BJP workers forcibly draping a sari on a 73-year-old Congress worker surfaced on social media platforms.
The issue ignited when the Congress worker, identified as Prakash “Mama" Pagare, allegedly posted a morphed and defamatory image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The image reportedly showed PM Modi draped in a sari, prompting protests and a street showdown by the BJP workers. The BJP also alleged that the image was shared with a song that they claimed was derogatory and insulting.
In retaliation, the BJP summoned Pagare and made him wear a saree.
