The abnormally low rate of conviction in NDPS cases has become a matter of deep concern for the people and opposition parties in the state. A number of MLAs belonging to Congress and CPI (M) have expressed grave concern over the issue and held the police and investigating agencies responsible for this. This sensitive issue came up in the state assembly today in the form of an ‘unstarred question’-meant for only written reply in the house-raised by senior Congress MLA Sudip Roybarman.
