China and Hong Kong have evacuated thousands of people as they prepare for the arrival of Super Typhoon Ragasa.

The storm, equivalent to a Category 5 hurricane, has already swept through the northern Philippines where at least 3 people have been killed. It has triggered severe flooding and landslides across the region.

Last week, protesters took to the streets of the Philippines capital Manila, furious about the alleged government mismanagement of money that was supposed to be used to protect the country from extreme weather.
