French President Emmanuel Macron was briefly left stranded on the streets of New York after police halted his vehicle to clear the way for US President Donald Trump’s motorcade. Emmanuel Macron had been returning from the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) when the incident occurred.

Videos circulating on social media showed the French leader taking the delay in stride. In one clip, Emmanuel Macron is seen jokingly phoning Donald Trump and saying, “Guess what? I am waiting in the street because everything is paused for you."
