Some Thames Valley pupils with special needs are not going to school because they lack supports as the special education program has come to a standstill, a source within the board says.
“Students who have arrived in kindergarten from out-of-board and require significant support for their safety and the safety of others – there is no timeline for even a discussion about how to support them,” said the insider, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of retribution from the Thames Valley District school board. “I have serious safety and human rights concerns and can’t get answers.
“Many principals are opting to have (pupils) stay home until support can be established.”
