The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is handing five common conditions a monthly £749 payment. Personal Independence Payment is a benefit from the DWP for disabled people in the UK, to help them with the cost of living.
The DWP is currently administering 3.8 million PIP payments every month. The five most commonly recorded disabling conditions for PIP are p sychiatric disorder (39% of claims) and musculoskeletal disease (general) (19% of claims).
Neurological disease (13% of claims), musculoskeletal disease (regional) (12% of claims) and respiratory disease (4% of claims) complete the list from the DWP, according to the latest benefits department figures.
