Emma Watson has been on a break from acting since 2019, when she played what to date is her last role in Greta Gerwig ’s Little Women . In a rare interview with Hollywood Authentic , the 35-year-old actor said that she largely avoids press so that she need not explain her hiatus.

“I’ve been working very hard. I’m working on…I’m not going to say what, because people wonder, ‘When is it going to happen? What’s going on with that project you were working on?’” Watson told filmmaker Hassan Akkad, who interviewed her for the publication. “So I’ll just say I’m working on something I’ve never done,” she said.
