Premier Danielle Smith’s instruction to her UCP crew could not be clearer Monday.
When it comes to the government’s transgender laws one sentence is enough for the premier to send the message.
“Protect children by using all available legal and constitutional means necessary.”
Smith’s instructions come after her Saturday radio appearance when the premier said she could go as far as using a clause in the Charter of Rights to override the courts and keep her government’s new laws in place.
These laws include notifying parents and needing their consent if a student 15 years old and under at school wants to change their preferred gender-related pronoun, such as he to she.
Parents would be notified if the student is 16 or 17 years old.
