The Urbanworld ® Film Festival and BLACK GIRLS ROCK! ®, founded by visionaries Stacy Spikes and Beverly Bond, respectively, have come together to forge a new path in representation, creativity and cultural enrichment. The two groups have joined forces for the first time, infusing the 29-year-old film festival with BLACK GIRLS ROCK!’s commitment to nurture, educate and inspire new voices.

The expanded festival will feature in-depth dialogue on creativity, sustainability and innovation. Like it has done in the past, it will offer independent pathways to storytelling with peer-to-peer learning and sessions centered on funding, production, distribution and emerging technologies.
