People living or travelling in Canterbury are being advised to keep windows and doors closed due to a gas leak. Two fire engines are currently in attendance on St Martin's Hill.

Crews are telling people to avoid the area, Kent Fire and Rescue service said. Gas safety engineers are also at the scene.

A KFRS spokesperson said: "Two fire engines are currently in attendance and crews are working with the gas safety engineers to make the scene safe.

"Please share this information with any loved ones in the area who may be affected but do not have access to the internet."
