Shillong, Sept 23: Martin Luther Christian University hosted its 18th Convocation today at the Lariti International Centre for Performing Arts and Culture in Shillong. The event brought together 1,005 graduates, including 37 PhD recipients, marking a significant milestone in the university's expansion in academics and research.

The ceremony began with a heartfelt address from Chancellor Glenn C Kharkongor, who celebrated the university’s growth and achievements. During his speech, he unveiled a portrait and presented citations of the late RG Lyngdoh, former VC of MLCU, which were received by Ampareen Lyngdoh. Additionally, a grant of Rs. 50 lakhs was announced for the RG Lyngdoh Memorial Fund with a committee to be chaired by Patricia Mukhim, Board Member of MLCU.
