ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Kodak has announced a new partnership that will bring electrode production and new job opportunities to Rochester.

The company has begun working with Ateios Systems, a company that specializes in electrode manufacturing innovation, to create components that are said to "redefine" battery manufacturing.

“With Kodak, we've shown that sustainability, scalability, high yields, and speed can coexist without compromising performance," said CEO and founder of Ateios Systems, Rajan Kumar.

The method of production reportedly uses less energy and creates the electrode components over three times faster than others in the industry. By avoiding the use of "forever chemicals" and solvents, electrodes are said to be made in an environmentally cleaner way.
