ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The New York State Public Service Commission has announced in-person and virtual public hearings for residents to provide input on proposed rate hikes for RG&E and NYSEG.

Both companies' proposals outline a request to increase revenues, which would result in an increase in monthly bills for residents. RG&E would reportedly increase by $33.01 for electric services and $18.87 for gas services, and NYSEG's would increase by $33.12 for electric services and $33.57 for gas services as of April 30, 2027.

It has also been proposed that walk-in offices be closed. The closures would include the NYSEG offices located at 73 Wright Circle in Auburn, 1387 Dryden Road in Ithaca, and 65 Country Club Road in Oneonta. The RG&E offices located at 14 State Street in Sodus and 180 S
