Wendy’s expands. New location opening near Phillipsburg soon.

A new Wendy’s restaurant near Route 22 in Greenwich Township is only days away from opening.

The chain’s signature square hamburgers and Frosty desserts will debut at 1500 West Ave. in the last week of September, according to an town officials and an employee undergoing training for the new restaurant.

A spokesperson for the Wendy’s restaurant did not confirm an exact date of the restaurant’s grand opening, as of Sep. 23.

To make way for the restaurant, developers demolished a vacant, dilapidated former antique parlor that previously occupied the site. The project required some waivers to accommodate the undersized lot, according to Phillipsburg Land Use records.
