In the early 1980s, Richard Dalton became Princess Diana 's personal hairstylist, although they first met in his London salon when she was just 17 years old. Elated about the assignment he received (even he cannot understand how it happened), the hairdresser stayed by the People's Princess's side for a decade, styling her hair even twice in the same day.
Dalton retraces those years in his memoir It's All About the Hair: My Decade With Diana , sharing with readers a wealth of anecdotes and trivia from his time caring for Diana's hair (and, often , William and Harry 's as well). In an interview with Marie Claire , Dalton also made it known that the British princess preferred to do her own makeup rather than rely on makeup artists.
