SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Despite it being fall, parts of Northern California on Tuesday could reach triple-digit heat.
Meteorologist Tamara Berg said Tuesday's forecast high for downtown Sacramento is 99 degrees, up from the 95 degrees recorded Monday. The average for this time of year is 87 degrees.
The Foothills could see highs in the low 90s, while the Sierra may peak in the upper 70s. Berg said some areas will be close to reaching heat records, including Vacaville, Marysville and Stockton.
The morning began mild with clear skies and light winds, but the heat is expected to rise by the afternoon.
