Eight food carts in a Southeast Portland pod were damaged Tuesday morning in what investigators believe was an accidental propane tank explosion.
This was confirmed to be a leak of a propane fuel canister that trapped the gas on the inside of the cart and eventually reaching an ignition source causing the entire cart to explode. Material from the cart caused damage to other carts and structures. — Portland Fire & Rescue (@PDXFire) September 23, 2025
Firefighters quickly put out the Southeast 82nd Avenue blaze and no one was injured, according to Portland Fire & Rescue on X.
