An 80-year-old softball player is garnering world-wide attention for his words of gratitude for his teammates and being accepted in a world that doesn’t always appreciate the contributions and inclusion of seniors.

Nelson Bradbury, a member of the Mount Pearl Slo-pitch Softball League, sent a text to his teammates letting them know how he really appreciates “the way you guys treat me as an equal and not just an old fart.” He goes on to say, “except for you guys, I would not be playing ball, no daily walks, no light weights. There would be no reason to do those things. It’s all of you who keep me going and give me the reason to get out of bed in the morning.”
