PALMER TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A crash involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle closed part of Main Street in Palmer Township on Tuesday.
The crash happened around 5:10 a.m. on the Route 33 North exit ramp, along Main Street.
Officials say a Freightliner and a Nissan Pathfinder SUV, with four people inside at the time, collided.
The driver and the front seat passenger of the Pathfinder has to be extricated from the vehicle. They were taken to a nearby hospital for "traumatic injuries" and are both listed in critical condition.
The other two passengers were able to get out, without assistance. They were also taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
The crash caused major backups during the morning commute, but the roadway has since been r
