Former Manchester United midfielder Anderson has been ordered to serve prison time if he doesn't hand over £142,000 in child maintenance.

The former midfielder was reportedly told about this at the start of September, but it has only just emerged.

Reports in Brazil suggest that Anderson will be confined to his cell and will be closely supervised.

He won't have to do that should he make a late payment.

But if he doesn't, he will only be allowed out of his cell during the day to take part in community service before spending the evenings behind bars.
