Dr. D’Wayne Edwards is joining the advisory board of the nonprofit Shoes That Fit.

Dr. Edwards, who currently serves as president at Pensole Lewis College , Michigan’s only HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) and the only HBCU in the nation focused on design, said in a statement that he has long admired the organization.

“It is an absolute privilege to join their advisory board and contribute to the inspiring work they do for our children nationwide.” Dr. Edwards noted.

A national 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Claremont, Calif., Shoes That Fit provides children in need new athletic shoes to attend school. Named a California Nonprofit of the Year, Shoes That Fit delivered new athletic shoes to over 180,000 children across 50 states last year alone.
