Fairhaven man sentenced for rape, unnatural acts with a child

FALL RIVER — A Fairhaven man has been sentenced to over two-and-a-half decades in prison plus probation for charges of child molestation and rape, among others, while his wife — who confessed to participating in some of the acts with minors — awaits sentencing.

On Monday, Sept. 22, in Bristol County Superior Cour t in Fall River, Shayne Medeiros, 38, of Fairhaven, was sentenced by Judge Thomas Perrino to 26 years in state prison, then 10 years of supervised probation, for charges of "child molestation, including aggravated rape of a child by age difference, assault with intent to rape a child, indecent assault and battery under 14, unnatural acts with a child, dissemination of matter harmful to minors, indecent assault and battery over 14 and providing alcohol/marijuana to a child," acc
