The Regional Gang Unit made 12 arrests and seized four guns during targeted enforcement in Reno following a gang-related double homicide in south Reno earlier this month, police said.

The Sept. 19 operation in the 800 block of West Second Street accounted for four of the arrests and one of the firearms seized, police said.

Those arrested included:

Daniel Aguilar, 19, on suspicion of felony eluding, child neglect, reckless driving, driving without a license and resisting an officer, among other charges.

Kevin Cortes, 24, on a failure-to-comply warrant.

Two juveniles, ages 15 and 16, were also arrested. Police said one was taken into custody for a parole violation and driving without a license, while the other faces weapons charges, including carrying a concealed firearm and resisting
