The following homicides were reported recently by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Homicides were reported last week in Dolton and in a possible home invasion in Steger, police say.

Mark Anthony Plambeck, 23, died of a gunshot wound to the back on the 3000 block of Butler Avenue in Steger Sept. 17, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Steger police but said they were called to the home at 2:30 a.m. for a possible home invasion. Officers said residents locked themselves in one room after an “unknown male” entered the home.

“Steger officers and officers from surrounding departments secured the residence and safely removed all of the residents,” police said. “A deceased male subject, located inside the residence, suffered an apparent gunshot wound.”
