Huh. Well, I have to say, Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Frankenstein retelling, The Bride , definitely has the most shoot-outs of any Frankenstein movie I’ve ever seen. It almost feels more like a gritty, gangster movie than a Universal Monsters one. But despite that, all the hallmarks of a Frankenstein tale are there: reanimation, staples to the forehead, wild hair. So, okay, here we go. Of course, The Bride centers around the Bride of Frankenstein, giving her a voice, an attitude, and a point of view.
