Over the last weekend, the Emporia State women’s tennis team competed in the ITA Regionals down in Edmond, Okla. The team is coming off a solid outing at the Washburn Invitational that saw them win four finals. In the second tournament of the season, the Hornets would see more success.

Day one saw the team finish 9-6 while also sending both junior Giovanna Ferreira and freshman Carla Paul Piquer into the Flight B championship bracket. Sophomore Yuliya Klimova would secure a spot in the Flight A consolation bracket, and freshman Erin Cahill would secure a spot in the Flight B consolation bracket.

Saturday would see three Hornets make it to Sunday as Klimova, Ferreira, and Cahill would advance in their respective brackets for a chance to win. The doubles squads would not advance to Sunday
