FLATBUSH — GRAMMY-WINNING R&B star Maxwell will return to his home borough with a Sept. 28 concert at the Kings Theatre in Flatbush.

“It doesn’t get more Brooklyn than Flatbush,” the 52-year-old told Spectrum News NY1, noting he has never played the historic venue. Born in New York City to a Puerto Rican father and Haitian mother, Maxwell rose to fame with his 1996 debut, Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite.

He continues to tour, is planning new music, and has hinted at future projects in film and entertainment.
