TUCSON, AZ (AZFamily) — Shelter overcrowding has been a prominent issue, with rescues filling up faster than pets can be adopted out.
That’s why it’s always Something Good when those pets are given a second chance at a happy life.
Best Friends Animal Sanctuary , a Utah-based national organization that works to give homeless pets permanent homes, stopped at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA) in Tucson on a journey to bring homeless cats to areas with higher adoption demands.
“Transport is a really critical part of life-saving,” HSSA CEO Kristin Barney said, ”There are some communities that have adopters that don’t have pets to match them with, and some communities that have too many pets.”
