RUMFORD, Maine — Rumford police are investigating a deadly crash Monday night in which a pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on Kerr Street.

Shortly before 10 p.m., emergency officials responded to reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle between Dunton Street and Forest Avenue, police said in a press release .

Officials said preliminary information indicates a 2012 Toyota Tacoma traveling south on Kerr Street struck 66-year-old Mark Mccollough of Rumford.

Mccollough died at the scene, according to police.

The driver has only been identified as a 17-year-old male from Mexico, Maine, because of his age.
