Northeast L.A. student is a Rose Queen finalist

Eagle Rock: A young woman from Northeast L.A. has a chance to appear in next year's Rose Parade as Rose Queen. Camila Loria of Eagle Rock High School is among the 28 candidates that were announced Monday, seven of whom will be chosen for the Rose Court next week. If Loria makes it into the court, she will be the first Northeast L.A. woman to do so since 2012 , when the Tournament of Rose briefly considered high school seniors from Eagle Rock and Highland Park. The Tournament retracted back to its old boundaries several months later, but opened it up again a year ago. The Rose Queen will be picked from the court, with each member receiving a $7,500 academic
