Two former United Methodist churches in Cumberland County will be hitting the auction block this fall.

Wesley UMC at 211 S. Filbert St. in Mechanicsburg and West Fairview UMC and Parsonage at 1201 Second St. in East Pennsboro Township are for sale.

The auctions are hosted by Michael T. Roan Real Estate, with Wesley UMC’s auction at 6 p.m. on Sept. 25, and West Fairview UMC’s auction at 6 p.m. on Oct. 16.

The Williamsport company has auctioned off more than four dozen churches for the Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church.

“These places have been around for 150 years and have been good to the community and a lot of people have devoted their lives to them,” said auctioneer Michael T. Roan.
