PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - A Peoria man will stay in jail until his trial on charges he sexually assaulted a teenager the day after she ran away from home.
A release from the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office said DNA genetic testing linked Eddie Blakes, 52, to the sexual assault in January of a 16-year-old girl.
She told investigators that the day after she ran away, an unknown man picked her up, and a second man she didn’t know joined them.
They reportedly drove her to a Peoria residence where they sexually assaulted her on Jan. 9. The victim said a third man showed up, and he also sexually assaulted her.
The girl was taken to a hospital, where investigators said they collected DNA that matched Blakes.
