TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A Tallahassee ice cream truck owner is turning compassion into action after Florida State University linebacker Ethan Pritchard was critically hurt in a shooting last month .

Pritchard, who was shot Aug. 31 while visiting family in Havana, recently opened his eyes for the first time since the incident .

As he continues to recover, Tasha Pizarro, owner of Momma P’s Ice Cream Truck, is working to make sure the FSU athlete and his family feel supported by the community.

“God put it on my heart that I could use my connections in the community to bring some joy, hope, and encouragement to Ethan and his family,” Pizarro said.
