FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - An Apalachicola man died Tuesday morning after being hit by a vehicle in Scipio Creek Marina’s parking lot, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

At approximately 10 a.m. Tuesday, a vehicle, driven by a 79-year-old Apalachicola man, was traveling north on Market Street, FHP wrote in a press release Tuesday afternoon.

A pedestrian, who FHP identified as an 82-year-old Apalachicola man, “appeared to have been walking west from the driveway of the Scipio Creek Marina,” just before the vehicle hit him and remained on scene, per the state agency.

The 82-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene.

“All next of kin notifications have been made,” FHP said.

Charges are pending, according to the press release.
