ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An 18-year-old man is facing federal charges for the alleged deadly carjacking of an Uber driver in Albuquerque, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Mexico announced Tuesday.
According to court documents, Sheliky Sanchez Jr. carjacked, kidnapped, and shot his Uber driver, Joseph Andrus, on Aug. 7. Sanchez allegedly told detectives he had his girlfriend order the Uber because he wanted to let off steam due to “so much stress.” Police said he filtered through several Uber drivers and specifically chose Andrus to be his victim.
