A 26-year-old Welland man has been arrested hours after police identified him as being wanted in connection with a report of an indecent act at a Niagara Falls hotel last week.

Niagara Regional Police said a man entered the hotel on Sept. 19 and approached a female employee. He then engaged in an indecent act and attempted to make inappropriate physical contact.

The employee was able to alert a supervisor and call for assistance. The man fled the scene in his vehicle and was last seen travelling south on Stanley Avenue at 1:18 p.m., said police.

On Monday, police issued an update saying they had identified a Welland man as the suspect in the incident.
