The Zoning Board of Appeal today approved plans to replace the one-story CVS at 155-159 Charles St. at Charles Circle with a five-story, 12-unit apartment building.

Two of the apartments will be rented as affordable, to people making no more than 70% of the Boston area median income, according to Joe Hanley, lawyer for Egeria, a Dutch real-estate investment firm, which owns both 153 Charles St. next door and the Whitney Hotel, on the other side of Charles Street.
