"Jimmy Kimmel Live!" is coming back nearly a week after it was suspended indefinitely following the host's comments on the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

In a statement to USA TODAY on Sept. 22, Disney said it decided to bring the show back after "having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy" over the last few days. The reversal follows a backlash in Hollywood and a mounting boycott campaign against Disney .

Kimmel's first show will air on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
