Missouri football coach Eli Drinkwitz used a portion of his opening statement during his weekly media availability Tuesday to offer his condolences and prayers to the family and loved ones of Shawn Clark, the UCF coach who died Sunday at the age of 50.
Clark was the offensive line coach and assistant head coach under Drinkwitz while he was in charge at Appalachian State in 2019.
Clark, who most recently was the offensive line coach at UCF, sustained a medical emergency Sept. 9. He remained in stable condition before passing away Sunday.
“I want to say that I'm deeply saddened by the loss of Shawn Clark, a coach at UCF and a friend of mine,” Drinkwitz said. “I really have a heavy heart for Jonelle, Giana and Braxton, his wife and kids. I know Shawn. I know his players loved him. I kn
