Temperatures are slightly cooler this afternoon behind the cold front that moved through northeast New Mexico this morning. A chance for showers and storms will move into northeast and eastern New Mexico this afternoon. A few storms will also be possible from the Gila into south-central New Mexico. The cold front will then surge south and west across the state overnight, bringing a gusty canyon wind into the Rio Grande Valley. All of New Mexico will see cooler high temperatures on Wednesday, but the chance for rain and thunderstorms will mainly stay up in the mountains.
