The Lake County Coroner’s office has identified the man who died after being shot in a Saturday officer-involved shooting in New Chicago.

The coroner’s office said in a release that Benjamin Scott, 64, of the 200 block of Huber Boulevard, died at the scene from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead about 4:30 p.m.

The shooting is under investigation by the Indiana State Police. On Tuesday, a state police release said two officers fired at a suspect inside the home.

About 3:30 p.m. Saturday, New Chicago police and Hobart Fire Department paramedics responded to the address for a call involving a deceased person, identified Tuesday as Aaron Onohan, 45, of the Huber Boulevard address. After an autopsy, the coroner’s office said he died from acute cardiac arrest and ruled the cause of death
