A government shutdown is looming on Oct. 1 as Republicans and Democrats in Congress have yet to come to an agreement on funding.
While Republicans have largely been in favor of keeping the government funded at current levels until just before Thanksgiving, Democrats say they won’t support any funding extensions that don’t address a slate of demands related to health care , including reversing Medicaid cuts and extending expiring Obamacare subsidies. The GOP, so far, has refused to budge on either of those issues.
